Objectives:

  1. Students will analyze the musical differences in Metallica’s songs through selected albums.

  2. Students will develop their own opinion and understanding of the music played for them from each album.

  3. Students will evaluate how the phases of the band changed with equipment, lineup, producers, etc.

  1. Getting to Know Metallica and Metal Music (Hook) - 2 min

    1. Playing a song

    2. Asking about separate bands 

    3. Gathering what the students know about the topic

  2. The Crew (Introduction) - 1.5 min

    1. Brief catchup on Metallica and their lineup

    2. Showing photos of early years

    3. Possibly a question that can be answered down the line

    1. Showing a music clip of a song

    2. Going into what was behind that song 

      1. Instruments

      2. Recording

Providing the switching in band mates, producers, and more; this article is a thorough and accurate look at how Metallica’s sound had changed throughout the year. This is an important article because it gives a large amount of information needed to connect the album sounds together and explain in further detail how each one is viewed.
